The Moon and Her Phases – A Journey Through Light and Shadow

The Moon and Her Phases – A Journey Through Light and Shadow

When you live close to nature — or on the ocean — the moon becomes part of your rhythm. Out here, her light is everything: a silver path across the waves, a silent guide on dark nights, a reminder that life moves in cycles.

I’ve watched her rise over endless horizons — sometimes glowing softly behind clouds, sometimes fierce and golden, sometimes invisible but deeply present.

The moon mirrors my own journey: moments of clarity and expansion, times of darkness and rest, all part of the same dance.

Each phase carries its own energy, its own message. When we learn to live by her rhythm, we begin to trust that every phase of life has a purpose — even the quiet, unseen ones.

🌑 New Moon – The Silent Beginning

The new moon is invisible, yet full of potential. It’s the moment of stillness before creation, a time to rest, dream, and set intentions.

Under the dark sky, everything feels quiet and open — like fertile soil waiting for the first seed. This is when you can ask yourself:

What do I want to grow in the coming cycle?

It’s not a time for action, but for vision. Listen inward. The answers rise softly, like the tide at night.

🌒 Waxing Crescent – The Spark of Intention

As the first sliver of light returns, hope awakens. This phase carries the energy of commitment and momentum — the first gentle push toward what you’ve envisioned.

Take a small step, speak your dream aloud, make a choice that feels true. The moon teaches us that growth begins with the smallest movement.

🌓 First Quarter – The Turning Point

Half in light, half in shadow — the first quarter asks for courage. Challenges appear, reminding you that every dream requires action. It’s a test of alignment: Do you truly want this?

Stay steady. Adjust your sails if you must, but keep your course.

🌔 Waxing Gibbous – Refinement and Trust

The moon grows full, her light strengthening each night. This is a time for fine-tuning — refining intentions, nurturing your vision, trusting your process.

Not everything is visible yet, but energy is building. Patience becomes your teacher here.

🌕 Full Moon – Illumination and Release

Now the moon stands fully revealed — bright, open, honest. She shines on everything, including what we’d rather not see.

This is the moment of clarity and completion. Old emotions rise, truths unfold, and energy peaks.

Let it all surface. Breathe, release, and give thanks for the growth that has come full circle.

🌖 Waning Gibbous – Integration

After the fullness, the light begins to soften. This is a time of reflection and gratitude, when lessons settle into wisdom. You’ve gathered experience — now you share it, or simply carry it gently within you.

🌗 Last Quarter – Surrender and Simplify

Half light again, half dark — this phase asks for cleansing. Let go of what no longer supports your journey. Simplify your inner and outer world. Just like the sea clears after a storm, your spirit finds calm in letting go.

🌘 Waning Crescent – Rest and Renewal

The moon grows thin and quiet, inviting deep rest. This is the phase of closure and forgiveness — a time to pause before beginning again. Allow yourself to drift, to do nothing, to breathe into stillness. Soon, new light will rise once more.

The Moon at Sea

At night, when I stand on deck and watch the moon reflect on the water, I feel deeply connected — to nature, to myself, to everything.

Her light touches the waves, and I remember that I too am always moving through phases. Some nights I’m full of light. Some nights I’m hidden. But every phase is part of the whole.

The moon reminds me: You don’t have to shine all the time. Just keep flowing.

About Me – Pure You

My name is Jacqueline Evers. Through Pure You, I create a space where presence, awareness, and the heart lead the way. I guide people — and myself — back to what is already whole within us: our essence, our rhythm, our inner light.

Writing and sharing these reflections is my way of holding a mirror for others — an invitation to pause, to breathe, and to reconnect with the quiet wisdom inside. Every word is an offering: a gentle reminder that transformation doesn’t have to be loud or forced; it unfolds naturally, when we allow ourselves to simply be.

Through retreats, teachings, and stories, I explore the intersection of body, mind, and spirit — the places where courage meets tenderness, where curiosity opens to understanding, and where self-love becomes a practice of daily life.

The workshop began in the most unexpected way. Before we even sat down, Ken started cleaning the room. Not in a rushed or perfunctory way, but with an intent that felt almost ceremonial. Space clearing. Creating an environment where the invisible could become felt. It was as if the walls themselves were exhaling, preparing to hold something sacred.

Bali is an island of profound spiritual energy, where each corner offers an invitation to pause, reflect, and reconnect. One of the most sacred places I visited was Tirta Empul, a temple renowned for its holy spring water, believed to have purifying powers. The experience of immersing myself in the waters here was not just a physical cleansing but a deep spiritual practice—one that invited me to slow down, release, and reconnect with my essence.
